Paper Abstract:
|
Parallel testing is widely used in assessment students learning performance; however, is difficult and time-consuming
for teachers to construct the parallel test items. Furthermore, the test result does not support teachers to detect students
misconceptions. This paper proposed an online parallel test generator for teachers to detect elementary school students
misconceptions about decimal fraction. All the items are formed as multiple-choice items which are embedded with one
correct alternative and three distracters corresponding to specific misconceptions. The parallel test generator is performed
under 46 item templates predefined with restrictions. The maximum of 100,227,760 different items could be generated
and teachers could detect students misconceptions successfully. Meanwhile, students cheat in non-parallel test and the
effect of memories of solution in few parallel tests could be prevented. The parallel test generator also reduces teachers
efforts in constructing the parallel tests and supports teachers to assist students to learn in time. |
